I only have 5 numbers on pad on the block,, t107d if I'm reading it right. Can anyone decode this for me? The only thing I figured out is T=Tonawanda, 1=Jan, 07= 7th day ?. Not sure if that is right and I can't figure out what the d stands for. Thanks
First letter generally denotes the month A=Jan B=Feb.... so t=??? If it read A107d it would translate to jan 10, 1957,,, the use of d in model year 1958 was for a two barrel 283 powerglide 185 horsepower for cars and trucks.
D means 58 thru 64 283 Impala powerglide 2bbl carb OR 55-56 265 TRUCK 4bbl carb and manual ****** Kinda weird but they reused the letter codes a lot back then
I am pretty sure the T is for Tonawanda, and the D would be a 58- 283 or as said possibly a 265 if no side mounts.
It does have side mounts and it did have a 2 barrel so it must be a 58 to 64 283. Where are you guys getting the Impala part from? Thanks again.
