Well, I never get involved in these discussions. And I haven't posted before. Love the car been watching since the beginning.
You should never have sold it if you didn't want it changed, in my opinion for the better.

C'mon fellas, I'm sure if you were Leon (39mercman) and sold Tim your stock Merc, then saw what Tim and Kevan did to it, you would also be pretty pissed....that you hadnt done it yourself :p:rolleyes:

  6. I don't enter into online arguments about the pros and cons of taking a car and modifying..........but, this car has been changed into an absolutely beautiful car, something that could've come from a design studio in my opinion.
It hasn't been modified beyond recognition, with white letter tyres, high end rake, spoilers or wings. velour trim or any other butt ugly modifications that have done in the past 30 odd years.
It has been modified very tastefully and if i'd been the previous owner i'd be jealous of what something I once owned and sold has become.....to tell the truth i'd be spewin i'd sold it

The least you could do for so inconsiderately creating a thing of beauty out of his clean-but-blobby stocker is return Leon's fuzzy dice!

Stunning, one of the ugliest roof lines to one of the best roof lines. Very nice work.

    :cool:Whuee............ Definite c ongrates Guys !

I'm tried from reading, watching, The Thread Three Times, but enjoyed every minute of IT.

Note: the '40 Mercs I've seen, and owned had stainless window channel, per the '39. The '39's
did not have the vent windows like fortys. I know
I spent 40 hrs on my stainless, and did the B-pillar sweep design (like Matranga's ).

Waiting on the next one that's in Line !:cool:

Well it's been a long journey and last Friday it was finally time to say goodbye, for now! I delivered the car about 450 miles from Nor Cal down to Paramount in So Cal. Before I delivered the car to the shipper I stopped by Masterson's and the old Barris shop. I figured it would give the car some good Custom Mojo before it travels overseas!

And just so everyone is happy... I returned the the fuzzy dice!:D

    Thanks again to everyone involved!

Great news Kevan... I bet Tim is very nervous for the next 4-5 weeks from now, waiting for his baby to get to his home in Denmark for the first time.

What a great gesture to donate those ultra rare and high valued fuzzy dice back to the project and not keep them in your own fantastic Custom Car memorabilia collection. Tim will really appreciate that!

  18. Damn..............doesn't matter whether on a trailer or parked up somewhere, that's a beautiful car

  23. Man what a beauty, wish my 39 was half as nice as this one.
Hope to see it for real in the future, somewhere in Europe
