Thanks, glad you like the photos! I think there are a lot of parallels between the British hill climb specials and American hot rods. Both took cheap, lightweight chassis, stripped them down and put in the biggest powerplants they could lay their hands on. The end result is always so original and full of the character of the builder - that's what I love about both!

I'm not privy to all of Ryan's plans, but I suspect this is an over reaction. Why not just hang on until it actually happens instead of posting negative opinions of something that hasn't happened yet?

I actually don't think I said anything that was negative. My comment was more an "IF this happens, THEN it won't be the best thing".... there's a difference.

I believe this board has gotten way out of hand and I have seen threads that make me cringe, however, there is a bit of a baby-with-the-bathwater line that is going to be difficult to navigate here.

I'm looking forward to the change, but I also feel that some parameters may need to be reevaluated before they are enforced.

That said, I don't want to take away from the absolute coolness of this ride or the impact this thread has had on the HAMB. I just dig this car no end!!

Lifted from Ryan's rules of posting:

"Was your thread about something other than traditional hot rods and customs? Aside from a few "sidebar" topics that interest the staff here, we don't allow off topic posts. Your definition of "traditional" might differ from ours. That's fine. However, this is our forum and it's our definition that the forum is run off of."

I am betting this would be a 'sidebar topic that interests staff' or I will eat my shorts.

right. i bet it will too. so, given the likelihood of that, let's not muddy up this thread with speculations. there's a questions and suggestions sub forum for that. :)

It's interesting to look at, partly because it's not made in the "ALL MUST BE STEEL" era. Steel, alumin(i)um, brass/copper, wood, leather. There's no mystery about how it's made, or what of.
