Screw these bastards, I ain't going. Rules say: "Well maintained show quality vehicles. Paint & chrome must be presentable and complete. Primered vehicles are acceptable,BUT must be all one color clean primer. Part-Primer,Part-Paint is NOT acceptable, nor is mismatched painted body parts." Give me a F'ing break!! I'm shocked that they don't require "Shiny Billet Chrome only"!! They expect me to PAY THEM $60 so they can collect big bucks from all the attendees yet they insult my fine looking car? What the F are they thinking?? Screw the bastards I ain't going or if I do go, I'm going to burn rubber the whole way down their f'ing main street while I flip off their City Fathers.
their show, their rules. there must be something else that you can go do. or primer your whole car hot pink, or something. search: socalcarculture.com for other events to go to.
Cheer up! Rt.66 is a long TRADITIONAL highway. Plenty of places you can run what ya' brung. (Or, you could do what many rodders are doing and get the hell out of that state!) It ain't what it used to be... Lots of 66 in Arizona and plenty of cruises. Standing On The Corner in Winslow cruise coming up. I wouldn't qualify either because my 51 is running at least 3 different primers now. I usually use what is left on the shelf. Primers primer!
Yep, and that would give you a real good name. Maybe dickheads like you that they don't want. If you were only jokin' and I missed the joke, then I'm sorry Cheers Rod
The thing about the show is that it's on Euclid Ave in Downtown Ontario,CA next to old route 99 (Holt BLVD). Foothill BLVD (route 66) is about 4 miles further up Euclid Ave in the city of Upland. So this Route 66 car show it's not even actually on Route 66.
Going to the rt 66 days car show in Flagstaff az sept6-8th i believe . 6th year I've gone. Not sure of rules but have seen lots of primer and rat rod type cars there and a great staff putsit on. From what i'm told all monies goes to children carities in Flagssaff. Oh yea I think it's like $35,00 to show I believe. And local club members can't show their cars on Sat and that takes some of the politics out of it.lots of fun and cool cars if the weather holds out.yruhot.....doug
Obviously they never were around in the "Traditional" days to see what was really traveling on Route 66 back then... But as said...their rules... Unfortunately....
I did the route 66 trip from Illinois to California back in '97. I bought a special map to be able to locate all the little broken bits of route 66 to experience as much of the original road as I could. I took my '67 camaro convertible and heading out there took me 10 days and in that time I did not see one other single classic car. Maybe it was the time of year I went (early October).
