I am thinking of buying a 51 Pontiac coupe for parts for my 52 chevy coupe, my understanding is that everything from the firewall back will swap. I know the dash and trim and taillights are different but is there anything else I cant use from the Pontiac?
I am hoping to use the drivers door and the front part of the rear quarters as well as the seats and some gl***.

    Thanks!

just make sure the person who told you this will stand behind there words and pay for all the wrong parts you buy.

Nobody told me anything, I have read that these parts interchange.... Im not sure so I am here asking people with way more knowledge than I have.
Do you have info that may be of help to me?

  4. The gl*** and doors will swap if they're the exact same body style. Coupe is different than 2dr sedan and fastback is still different. Coupe and notch-back sedan do share front and rear gl***.

You can buy the front lower half of the quarters repro.

Seats, who knows, Pontiac frame and floor are different, they may fit, they may not. Tons of seat options for that Chevy, though, it's wide enough to fit almost anything. Personally I'd track down some mid-80s power seats and have them recovered to look old before I messed with an original seat.

And be sure to look a little more before you hack up a good coupe, once it's cut up that's one less for someone else.
