I have installed a new TPI gas gauge with new sender in my 1931 Chevy tank. When I turn on the ignition the gauge needle advances from way below empty to slightly below empty. At least, this indicates that the gauge has power. I bought the gauge set about four years ago and have just now got around to installing them. Since both TPI-Tech and the vender are out of business I turn to the wisdom of the HAMB. What do you think might be a logical solution to this problem? Thanks for your help. How much gas do you think is in the tank ? Is the float adjusted for your tank depth? Check for ground at the tank and to the sender. Unplug the sender (see what the needle does) and jump the cluster side of sender wire to ground ( see what it does)
Check: 12v at the gauge and sender Add a jumper ground Gauge may require a ground at the gauge housing as well.
