I think they will dress up any early 50's dog dish cap I have snapped them over the stock dog dish caps on a early 50's chevy and they look cool...
The set that sold last yr. here on HAMB I bought. They were more than mint, they were still in the box! I have them on my '30 roadster. People always ask about them "Desoto, Cad, Lincoln?" They are really a conversation item.
I have a set of four these 16" Lyon caps. Haven't seen that model before. Anyone? There is some kind of tar and piece of wool inside of them...
Hey Evil. Was running thru this great thread you started and wow, you've got the same Lyons trim rings I have. Did you ever find any info on them? It seems to be a stand alone trim ring, or does it go under/over a center cap?
found a set of NOS lyons on ebay great guy in New York, running on the front of my 51, couldn't run the back ones because of skirts, had the centers painted to match body color, most guys don't know what they are. Was told Barris ran them on most his kustoms back in the day. Sold the other two to Mick, straykat kustoms to run on the front of his chopped merc, guess that makes them sisters!
I sold my two nice 15's to a friend of someone on here. and kept my rougher and older ones. But they won't be going on my car because they are not restored they are too beat up. I sold 2 with the lower center... The two raised ones I still have:
Picked up a set of 4 at Charlotte Autofair last week ,3 out of the 4 are VGC the other has a curb rash . My 51 has ran with the Lyons !
