I have a 1956 Buick Special, and I am missing the front Dagmars on the front bumper. On eBay there is a bumper off of a 56 4 door Buick, is this the same bumper?
Number of doors should matter, but there were two different body sizes depending on the series of Buick. I always thought that large body (not the Special) was the same as Cadillac (or similar).
Yeah the bumper online is also a Buick Special, it looks exactly like what I need so I think I'm going to bid on it
Buick had 2 different size cars the Special and Century are smaller in width and length than the Super and Roadmaster. The smaller ones are similar to Pontiac and the larger ones are like Oldsmobile. The tail light housings are different between the 2 sizes and I would imagine the bumpers would be different. There were different size Buicks back in the 20s as well . The more expensive cars were larger even though they looked similar to the smaller ones. JB
Okay, the car online is a special and so is mine, the only difference is his car is a 4 door and mine is a two door, so from what you guys are saying the bumpers should be the same, correct?
Yes, the bumpers will be the same. If you ever are looking for parts for your Special, the parts from another Special or Century will be needed. Some parts from the Roadmaster and Super will interchange though.
