I just joined the HAMB and like the vibe.... seems to be real hot rodders BS'n about real work they're doing to real cars. Good readin' About Swap Meets.......... I was reading several threads about both Pomona and Long Beach. I own and promote The Long Beach Swap Meet as well as the Long Beach Cycle Show, and as such know a lot about swap meets. As for the criticism, its good to hear not only what our hard core customers like about our shows but also whats pissin them off. And lets face it, we're more likely to hear from unhappy campers that the content ones. So here's the point of view of the guy puttin the show on........... Price - no one likes to shell out thier hard earned dough that could be goin into parts for the car, but it ain't free to put one of these deals on. Insurance, security, taxes, blah blah blah. And what if it rains? We still have to shell out the big dough even though no one paid at the gate. And any place big enough to put on a decent sized gig will be owned, in some fashion, by your gov't. And I'm here to tell ya that some gov't bureaucrat could care less about being fair to a Hot Rodder - all they care about is $$. And every year that we keep on havin successful events they see more oppurtunity to squeez. Case in point....... parking at Pomona. I know that from my experience the Fairplex not only unilaterally sets the price for parking but that the promoters (myself and I presume Cross and Sons) don't get a dime of it, and they don't ask our opinions. Those prices are set by some guy that could care less about Hot Rods. And pleading the logic that $X to park will drive away customers for good....... they could care less. We're just lucky that we have a contract at Long Beach and they havn't tried to push the parking issue yet at the Hi Performance Swap Meet. As for puttin on a swap meet for $3 a head, can't be done - at least not in So-Cal with land as valuable as it is. I'm not trying to pull your leg and cry poverty here, just want to let ya'll know that we're not getting as rich as it seems and we're not out to gouge the customers every time the price goes up, cause we might not be seeing a dime of it. In the end we hope it's worth it for whats there. Good stuff - yea, we'd all like to see 500 vendors full of treasure from garages far and wide, but that ain't realsitic every 2 weeks (8 Pomona's and 15 LB's per year). We're here to tell ya that for the really good stuff - the once a year shows are better (Big Three, Turlock). But not everyone wants to wait all year to get it out of the garage and we still get some garage stuff, sometimes ya just have to wander past the guy sellin the Chinese SBC crome kits to get it. And as far as the dreaded new stuff......... we can't just tell some guys they can't come in and others that they can when they're sellin the same stuff. Consider..... #1 those new parts guys help pay the rent and it couldn't be done without them #2 they'd sue us for restraint of trade and god knows what else for letting in thier buddy but not them #3 It'd be hard to search each trailer and box van as it slides through the door and figure out whats good and whats not #4 if we only had the stuff that I or you like to see we wouldn't have much of a show. you got to be willing to p*** by stuff that don't do it for you (but might for the next guy) in order to get out the stuff does #5 at Long Beach we limit the # of permanent vendors, figuring that the guy cleaning out his garage isn't the one signing up for 12 strait events - we like to leave a certain percentage of our selling space open to last minute types. We're trying to keep the variety out there. Keeping it about the cars - In one thread some knucklehead callin himself Bluto was complaining (and prognasticating the eminent demise of our show) because we turn away vendors who have **** (that's greek for stuff that's not car related) for sale. Guilty. We figure most guys aren't payin $8 to see dishes, socks, sungl***es, jewelry, and all that **** that they can get at a general merchandise swap meet. And although some of it gets by us it's not because we want it to........ #1 there is a general merchandise swap meet at Veteran's already that has an exclusive contract for anything not strictly car or bike related. By contract we aren't allowed to let anyone sell anything thats not car related #2 these jack***es will do anything to sneak past us including switchin out vans, using fake names, signing up as Aunt Bessie, camoflouge, etc. We chase them around at every event trying to keep them out. It's harder than it sounds. #3 yea we put on both the Hi Performance swap meet and the bike swap meet, and yea we figure that the Hi Performance deal is for car stuff and the cycle show is for bike stuff. We're not afraid that not allowing bike vendors at the car swap meet will hurt the bike gate.......... we just want to be consistent and let a guy know that when he shows up we'll do our best to make sure that we're what we advertise - a car swap meet. #4 every year we sell out a few times and have to turn away vendors. I don't want to send some guy packing that cleared out his garage and drove all the way out at 0-dark:30 and has good stuff for sale because some jack*** is takin up space sellin ****. We had it the day some idiot snuck in and was sellin cell phones and I turned away a pissed off guy that had a trailer with a 59 impala basket and a whole but of good semi-early stuff cause there was nowhere to put him. That's not the way we want it to go. Not only do we turn down thier green but it actually costs us our hard earned dough to keep them out. Size - Ive seen some posts about how Long Beach or Pomona was small on this or that date and are we dying on the vine etc.... We've always been a little slower in the summer because #1 there's a lot of other shows/runs/races on any given Sunday #2 its vacation season #3 the kids are out of school and want to go to DLand ect. etc. We do better in the winter when there's less goin on, ***uming the weather is O.K. So yea, it is a little hot and cold depending. Our attendance has been holding steady the last few years. We sold out twice already in 2005. Hope this helps ya'll see it from our end........... and we hope ya'll believe us that we're tryin to keep it real and worth your hard earned change. And we encourage and consider all comments, both positive and negative, as long as they're presented in a grown up way (you can e-mail us direct at Toppingevents.com). And for those of you that enjoy Long Beach - thanks, its keeping me from havin to get a real job and wear a tie. - Marshall Topping Oh, and as much as I always want to be positive and never bad mouth anyone you may have noticed that I called Bluto a nucklehead. He is. Why? Cause we've got a great young chick that works her *** off for us, really digs cars and hot rods, and is just plain cool. In one of his posts Bluto called her a '***** with too much power' for doin her job. What this idiot doesn't realize is that she's only doing what I ask her to do and she doesn't make the rules - I do. If you don't like the way I run my business fine - yell at me. Don't get nasty with a kid thats just tryin to make a livin for her family and have some fun doin it. Watch your mouth Bluto, I took that personally.
Marshall, nice to finally have someone from the other side of the fence speak up, I too lament the size which the LB HiPo show has grown to, only because I was there in the early days, when it was people selling off thier garage stuff, old cars that once were the sparkle in someone's eye now need a new home, I miss the camraderie of the old days, but I'm a realist and realize that everything changes, everything. I have noticed fewer people selling "junk" at LB, and I like it, I like the fact that you run people out who aren't selling actual car related stuff. I guess what I'm trying to say is, Thank you for the job you've done, please don't let one knucklehead be the voice you hear, there are many of us who are 150% behind you and your swaps, see you @ the next swap. Skip Autoholics
Its good to hear from someone that runs the event. I stopped selling a year or two ago there for a few reasons that may or may not have been addressed lately. An overabundance of sellers peddling 2 car parts and the rest Raiders shirts, toy cars, other Taiwan doo dads. Basically Harbor Freight junk. Youre not alone, Pomona is like the Mega Harbor Freight. Tools are car related, but 15 vendors selling the same junk is too many. especially in a smaller venue. The toy cars, James dean pictures, tshirts etc just dont belong. They take up precious space. Probably adding to my next issue. Its 100 miles for me to drive to your event. I cannot drive at night. So, I park on the street like so many others. i am relatively young compared to most of the people I have met out on the line. My beef and theirs too is that you let us in a 4 and open at 6. Thats not alot of time to set up, and I rarely have everything out in time. I'm unloading, people are digging through and running off with things. I cant watch them. The more senior vendors just cant unload fast enough..its also hard to get into a space with a trailer if there are spots already set up. If everyone went in together, people could move vehicles or wait a second to let another seller get into his spot. I was told this is due to an insurance issue, which is understandable. I spoke to someone (you possibly) that runs the place and he said the insurance starts at 12:01 Saturday until the next day. But they wont let people in because they just like doing it the way it is now, and didnt want to pay extra staffers the extra time. All the oldtimers I talked to said the owners kids are running the show, dont care about cars, they just want the $$ and cater to the prepaid vendors, just $$ in the bank to them. I, along with others that actually sell car parts would return to your swap if there was more time to unload. I know if one commits to a year up front he gets in at 3, not good enough. Other than that the prices, etc are not an issue.
desertratrodder...... the main reason that we don't open the night before or any earlier is that the stadium is owned by the school district and, during certain times of the year they have sports stuff goin on late on Saturdays. they wouldn't rent it to us any earlier if we begged and said pretty please with sugar on top and here's 2x the $$. in their defense I do believe thier mandate is for scholastics and not hot rods. what a shame. we're glad we get it at all. as for the rumors of the old guys kids running the show (or as some would say running the show into the ground) it's funny how off kilter rumors get. I am the old guy's kid and yes I and the other of the old guys kids are now running the show. The old guy died of a heart attack in 1995 and is now in Hot Rod Heaven. As for us not being car guys and only being in it for the $$............ thats wrong. My daily driver is a genuine 32 Highboy which I built myself, I also have a 36 PU and an as of yet completed 32 3W. I do all the work on my cars myself (except interior) and can perform adequately in the shop...... tig, sheet metal, machining, fab, etc. I am currently fabing in a 4130 rail to rail bar to strap Jr.s car seat to so that she too can get the feeling that only a good roadster can give ya. My partner, another of the old guys kids, has a gennie 37 2 door sedan and a jacked up 65 chevelle with a 383 wheelie motor. he built it when he was 15 and it was his daily driver for gettin on 10 years. I think sometimes the old timers are just lookin for something to blame for why Long Beach isn't like it was 15 years ago..... and we're easy targets. but rest ***ured - if we aren't hot rodders than nobody is.
I've never been to your events because I'm on the other side of the coutry. I'm not bashing you just letting you know how things are over here. We have Carlisle that used to be great but now is nothing more than repro venders and cheap tools. I don't go too often anymore cause of it. I think in a couple of years things will change. They are loosing the crowds that were buying. Once the buyers go away maybe the junk dealers will go away leaving room for the real swapmeet stuff. Hopefully this happens. Then on the other hand we have Hershey. It has to be the best swapmeet in the world hands down. It is huge! Takes two days of serious walkin just to see it all. There is very few junk tool dealers. It's not overrun by the repro guys. Best of all it's free. Yes addmision to the public is free. I'd be more than willing to pay to enter though. To vend it's like $65...not bad. Prices are good for the most part. Ninety percent of the swap is the average guy selling his junk. Why have your swap in the high rent district?? Is there any out of the way grounds you could have it at. Real car guys will travel for good parts. Hershey gets people from all over the world. I love swapmeets. I get depressed when I go and don't buy anything! Clark
Why have your swap in the high rent district?? Is there any out of the way grounds you could have it at. Real car guys will travel for good parts. Hershey gets people from all over the world. Why not move it? There are venues all over that are cheaper and bigger. If the school wants to be particular, then go elsewhere. we are absolutely no worse than the hip hop show they had in the auditorium 2 or 3 years ago. Their spectators were drinking in the street (in their cars) smoking pot, and when it was over, the PD had to go on tactical alert with full riot control, 2 helicopters to force the people off the property. And this was a show geared towards children. The school wont cater to us, let them have rap concerts there in our place. That will make them more cash.
#1 There are NO low rent places in So Cal. #2 Long Beach has HISTORY. Tom Topping was a cranky old fart and most of liked him as he was. Old time racers are like that. History there also. #3 Long Beach is easy for me to get to, (Selfish Me) #4 Pomona is WAY too big. Hell, LB leaves me with a sore back that ruins the rest of Sunday. The new **** pays the freight for the slow week ends, I just walk on by. Try it, it works. #5 As much as I love the HAMB, *****ing and whining is a tradition on here. Grow a thicker skin if it bugs you, Marshall. #6 For many of us, LB is a social event. I go 7 or 8 times a year even when I'm not needing stuff because I see a lot of pals there. The CHRR and March Meet is NOT enough. I have a LOT of friends who feel the same way. #7 You can get parts and supplies there when the other places that sell that stuff are closed on Sunday. #8 Hell, I can't sleep late and I'm up anyway. Might as well go there as have the wife try to find chores for me. #9 Hershey and Carlisle are so far from me, that makes even a free Model A is expensive. And it's monthly. Like the whiner's period is, I guess. Uh, did mention the social aspect? Don't have to shave, and it's sort of Hot Rod Church. Them's me two cents worth. chili
Marshall Topping It's easy ....Way too easy to loose touch with your vendors and your gate Just how many times has you meet been sold out since you started this policy? I'll not be back to your meet till things change... My choice VOTE WITH MY $$$!!! I like the meet! Over the years I've brought and sold a bunch NO MORE OK You gave a **** job to someone that has limited people skills in this situation. Is that easier for you to understand? I see nothing wrong with you taking it personal......It's the way you feed YOUR family I'm glad you saw this and spoke up Time will tell which of us is right
Marshall, I'm an East coaster that has attended your event, the Pomona meets, Carlisle and Hershey. I like them all, but each for their own reasons. Hershey, well what can one say other than it is THE BEST, bar none. Carlisle is great, but is suffering from the "Tool Man Blues." Too many tool guys selling the same Harbor Freight tools. Pomona is great for its Car Corral. Way better than Carlisle's and no hill to trudge up and down looking for that jewel in the rough to appear. And then we have your meet. As I said, I like it. Smaller than the others and I do get the friendly feeling that this is more of an impromptu meet even though I realize that it is not. It just feels that way to me. The vendors are, I think, much like me. They, for the most part, are just dragging stuff out of their garages to be moved down the road to a new owner thereby opening up space for more stuff purchased from the vendor down the aisle from them. Great stuff. My only complaint about the West coast meets is that they start at 0 dark-thirty and end at 3:00 in the freaking afternoon. Man, I'm just getting going. What the hell is that all about? I don't mind early, but Jaysus H. Khee-rist why so early in the afternoon. I know that us East coasters will go from the first call of the rooster until we are so lame that we will not sit down because we CAN'T get back up again. You West coasters are such a bunch of pansies! Of course, it may have something to do with the fact that we can't come out of our houses for 5-6 months 'cause the snow is blocking the door. Nah, that can't be it. Glad to have you on board, Marshall. Hang in there. The HAMB is a wonderful place.
Marshall, it's great to hear "the other side". I'm a semi-regular (is there such a thing) at Pomona. Usually there's two of us, we trailer a car for sale over to put in the car corral. For us, it's a 9-10 hour run, partially because of California's lovely 55 MPH speed limit if you are towing. We used to work all day Friday, leave work and drive all night to get in line on Saturday morning when the gate opens at 9am. We've gotten too old to do that anymore, usually leave home at noon on Friday, get there about 10pm, drop the trailer and head to a motel. There's always something............and I'm sure you see it a LB, too. We've been 4th or 5th in one of the outside lanes and someone has gotten in front of our trailer so we can't hook up to it in the morning. Or, the cars in the front of the line have no drivetrains in them and all have to be pushed. Or, before the "gates" open, someone has parked thier late model car on the front row of the corral area, and roped off 20 spaces. Sometimes we get so frustrated we quit going for a while. Seems the rules aren't consistant. It's nice to hear your side of it, I can appreciate your frustration. We've threatened to go to LB for a while now, even have one of your flyers in my shop, that I picked up at Pomona in August. Now that I know a HAMBer is in charge, I'll make it mandatory. You do have a car corral, right?
OK, here's where I have a *****. Sorry Marshall. They have a car corral but it's about filled up with a bunch of late model **** owned by LAZY ***HATS who park there so they can save a few steps. There is no real good reason for the Late pick ups with no trailers behind them. And there is no good reason for Dodge Magnums and PT *** Cruisers. If I want to see that ****, it's a real short drive to the Cerritos Auto Mall. I know I said that it was the best swap and I still think so, but Marshall, you ought to make those bums park in the general lot. It's $15 bucks you won't get, but I like to see around the lot and all these 4X4 trucks just plain HIDE the old cars. Hell, I'm an old man too. But I walk from the lot because it's the right thing to do. I'm guessing you posted this here to get feedback. It's whining, sure, but it REALLY frosts my ***. And it's something I've heard from a lot of other guys. Make a pre 72 rule or something. PLEASE!!!
i agree with Phil on the preferred parking being half full with late model cars/trucks. i also think it should be pre-'72 or something to that nature.
Thanks for the feedback. So.... OldKrusty - thanks for the input. as for opening at the 0 hour - we're with you. we've got to be up at least 2 hours before any of the gates open and it gets harder to do every other week the older I get. but hey, it's just the way things are done down here and they'd just revolt and jump the gates if we changed the timing that goes back 20 some odd years. AZGeezer - thanks for wanting to give us a try. we do things a little differently than Pomona in our car corral so keep in mind.......... #1 we only allow complete and running cars in the corral, all baskets belong in the vendor section #2 we can't allow trailers in the corral, and it sounds like you trailer your stuff out. The traffic lanes in our corral are too small and in the past we had several unfortunate incidents with trailers kissin cars and the other way around. And to make matters worse there is construction in the main parking lot right now and we can't (landlord issue) allow trailers in the main lot. What we can suggest, and most guys seem to do it with no problem, is to unload and park the rig on the street and drive the car in....... just watch for the parking signs. Check our website for pictures Toppingevents.com The gate opens at 6 am and guys start lining up 5 ish (that would garauntee you a front row spot) Chili - hey man its not whining - its feedback. feedback helps us do a better job so keep it coming. In theory you're exactly right about the car corral. The old man never invisioned it as a place to park your late model and reduce your excersize burden. And for many years it was a minor problem, most guys just parked in the lot and didn't care enough to shell out the extra change. Then a couple of things beyond our control happened over the last couple of years - #1 the airport took the Boeing parking lot that we used to rent and cut our parking in half #2 we showed up one saturday and found another 1/3 of what was left fenced off for construction (and no, they didn't cut our rent to reflect it). We figure that the pressure on the general parking lots is driving guys to just pony up and pay to get inside. But we've noticed it too and are weighing our options....... including limiting the years of vehicles. The problem we have is this - #1 guys have been doin it for years and we find that in the swap meet business change is not popular, even if it is good. we'd definately get lots of middle fingers on that one. #2 and more importantly we are an event designed not only for early stuff but also High Performance. so when the guy rolls up in a Hurst Olds, clearly one serious hi performance american car, and we tell him he can't come in it doesn't make sense - even to us if we think about it logically. And although it sounds easy to just pick and choose, 1988 suburban out - 1988 Hurst Olds in, we really need some sort of non-objective criteria so that when a guy decides to come out he can check our website or call our office and get a difinitive and clear rule on the subject. Thats our real dilema. But back to the beginning - we want to find a way to keep a 2003 Suburban out of the corral. We welcome any suggestions on that one. On another note - we got a permit from the City of Long Beach (which by the way has always been supportive of us and our shows) to park along Faculty Ave - thats teh street that runs along the Boeing facility - after 7 a.m. Every little bit helps. Keep it coming - Topping
in any business, you have to spend/lose money to make money. seems like you don't want to make a whole lot of changes because they could turn people away and you'll lose profits. and that's certainly understandable, but i think change can be a good thing. you asked how to how to keep out the Suburbans and H2s, have a sign out in the entrance that says pre-72 only or whatever. if they want to park close, then they need to get there early. you could also limit the car corral to certain years, types, etc. i don't think people go to the swap to buy a '92 Astro Van. i'd also like to see the vendors that sell **** that's not car related disappear, i.e, t-shirt vendors, Raider Nation b.s, etc, etc. of course i walk on by but that keeps someone out that might want to sell something that i need. but that's just my opinion, i could be wrong.
Let me get this straight, then. If I trailer over, get there early, park outside and drive the car in the gate? No set up Saturday, just swap on Sunday? Be there at 5AM? Thanks for handling this stuff so graciously, you'll get us over there soon!
Marshall, We've met a few times before, I knew who your dad (Tom) was when he was alive and you ran the Topping & Sons digger, (you still do, don't cha ) Infact I've even had machine work done by your tenant in your rental buildings, I've seen your tin-Real nice stuff Your familly has been consumate gear heads from the get go. I used to go to the swap when it was a Topping & Wilson event. I used to see Step & a 1/2 always promoting the swap, Then came the suit and it seemed like every thing changed, Some for better, Some, for worse When I started going to this swap, It was a True Hi-Performance swap. I mean if you were looking for it, more than likely it would be there. Then came the 90's and it became real weird, Old style Hot Rods with flatties just were't showing up that much any more, Don't get me wrong here as some cool iron does make it in there, but not like before. All of a sudden there was an increase in admission, more poeple on the payroll a full on turnstile counter as well no reduction in gate price @ mid day when a majority of the vendors have packed & went home. This is only my feedback. I have an idea of what it costs to put on event like this. I am a member of several different hot rod clubs. You've been to our picnics. I'm sure if you tighten up your critera in what cons***utes a Hi-Perf "Auto" Swap Meet. you'll get the kind of turn out that shows up @ the L.A. Roadster Show,- I know that you used to attend the old Model T-swaps ( I met you there with Ed Newett in like 87) that were held on the very same real estate that you occupy-look what kind of tin & parts used to show up there before they had to make the move to Cerritos College, They don't even do the 3rd day now. It isn't as well advertised anymore. You have the right spot to put on a Hi Po Swap, lets see some car parts, not pins gold chains & jewelery. I don't mind the Hot Rod T-shiirts as I kind of get my adverti*****t from the T's that we sell. I used to never miss one, Now I maybe attend once a year. Some people just come to see the cars that are in the prefered parking area-That's a money maker for you, Maybe you might do what Cross & Sons do with the pre 31's, but a pre 48 "Hot Rod" kinda comp deal, If you do it, people will come and pay to see. Maybe It would bring me back to being a regular.- This again is just my feedback. It is your swap to do with what you financially can handle. Take good care of that Flatty powered Deuce Roadster, I used to love seeing it there in the hobby shop.
Geezer - as i said in an earlier post saturdays aren't an option for us whether we like it or not. As far as trailers - we're not trying to make it hard on ya'll or keep ya from coming but thats the parking lot we've got to work with and it is what it is. Too many trailer-car contacts resulted in too many i'm gonna sue you threats to the both us and the landlord resulted in no more trailers. We'd like to have the space that Pomona does and park'em in the back but its not there. I think it just sounded harsher than it is but the street park and unload deal isn't that bad. And you don't have to get there at 5 to get a good spot just some do - anytime before 8 and you'll be in good shape. Coming all the way from AZ we can see where it might not work for ya, but its all we've got. 133 - hey I'm with on the Astro Van we just need to find a way that is clear/consistent/and pragmatic to keep the corral full of the right kind of stuff. Limiting the year leaves out some late model high performance cars that are part of our market - like the Olds or a blown/tubbed/caged street/strip 92 mustang. We have been hearing alot about this subject lately and are giving it alot of thought. Most of us here seem to be on the same page as to what should be in there, we just have to figure out how to make it happen. We're listening to all the comments on the subject...... Cyclone - we're 2X the size we were in the late eighties, and yea it seems that we have less of the early stuff showing up. We figure its a combination of an industry trend towards baby boomers and muscle cars and the fact that there are more options these days to get rid of your early tin. I went to a lot of cruise nights in the eighties, and handed out a million flyers, and back then it was primarily a street rod hot rod crowd. Nowadays my duece is more and more an oddball and the shows (derelicts for example) are becoming dominated by muscle cars. Thats just the way our industry is evolving, not that its all bad (its better than that horrible billet Boyd everything on my car was manufactured last year street rod phase) I really like some muscle cars and they still offer the fun that is what the core of hot rodding is about....... working on your chit, making it your idea of cool, and making it go faster than it should. As for early stuff the guys that have the best of it are usually not pro vendors but guys clearing out garages and private stashes, but how many times a year does the average guy need to clean house? and besides us and Pomona he's got the annual shows he can hit, many of which are very very good (big 3, LA Roadster, Turlock) We don't expect to get all of those guys all the time, just some of them some of the time. And to be honest if it wasn't my livelyhood I wouldn't hit our show every month either, but I'm sure I'd be there several or more times a year and find stuff I like when I was there. Like chili said, sometimes you gotta stroll past stuff you don't like to get to the stuff you do and there is more than one reason to be in there (we have lunch at Dales and BS alot). We're trying to keep it good but if we stand at the gate and play like Steve Rubel and subjectively decide who gets in and who doesn't (with car related products) we're open to all sorts of legal and pragmatic problems. It's a mofo just trying to keep out the guys selling non car related ****, which segways into my next point............................................... Just like most everyone that has posted on this thread we really really don't like to see **** in our vendor area. **** defined as anything thats not automotive related i.e. - football stuff, jewelry, dishes, sungl***es, tube socks, blah blah blah. It may sound easy to just turn 'em around at the gate but as I said in an earlier post they'll do just about anything to sneak past us. And then there's Bluto that promises he won't come back until we let them back in. We had a fellow that we just turned away that sold jewelry and would put out 2 watches with Ford emblems and threatened hell and high water if we wouldn't let him come back. I can't tell you how many complaints we've gotten from other vendors about not letting him in. go figure. Despite what it may look like we're with ya'll on this one and are working hard to keep it car related. This is one issue that we are downright determined on......... and the 32 is humming like a kitten, gettin the kiddy seat mounted in it for jr., and still a *****le in my eye. enjoying the comments - Topping
Oh and please, if you havent already done it, provide a porto-john outside for the vendors waiting in line. I usually get there at 5pm or so Saturday, as do alot of out of state vendors. Always an issue. It ****s getting h***led by the PD for taking a leak on a tree.. And the women have a harder time. Every little bit helps!
you are right on that one, we used to have one but somehow the college made it dissappear. we're going to get it done.
Because it's a SWAP MEET! not a damn car show, if you want a car show, go to a ****ing car show! If you're in the need of parts, go to a swap. 'nuff said
most of the long beach swap car corral is a car show. there are more cars on show than for sale. i'd rather see lowriders in there than SUVs and whatnot.
Hey Aeroman, those are some real nice bombas, but that ain't the car corral, there are no for sale signs on any of them. You owe Luke an apology, my friend. In case you're lost, this is the Swap Meet thread. Stay on topic. chili
Chili, I dont mean to be a **** but re-read Luke's Post: Because it's a SWAP MEET! not a damn car show, if you want a car show, go to a ****ing car show! If you're in the need of parts, go to a swap. 'nuff said. Pomona IS ALSO A CAR SHOW: 'nuff said...I wont post pics anymore and no, I will not apologize.
