So...I recently acquired this gem for next to nothing!!

Anybody know what it might be from? Is there any way to wire it up to my Dodge?(6V positive ground system)

    Even if not....it's pretty sweet.
Here's the other end of it.

If I can get it to function...that would be awesome!!

Ha! Nice try...I'll keep it either way. Money well spent in my opinion.

Do you know what the pins go to? I'd imagine you have a positive, negitive, and a coil signal. If you can figure out which one is which and how to select the pulse for 4,6,8,etc. If you can figure out which is which, then it's simply a case of connecting the dots.

Most likely truck, as it has high and low shift points, as well as hourmeter

I'd bet it needs a transmitter.

There is supposed to be a website to ID those SW units and gauges

Which is the difficult part. I'm good with electrical...but that is WAY beyond me.

The plug fits the wiring harness from the sending unit which is sandwiched between the distributor & cap.

SW tachs used a transmitter.....The plug was likely mated to it. It's a cool item,....I'd keep it !

Here are some pics of a complete setup for a late flathead. The part you have is the easy part, the plugs for the cable are kind of unobtaineum and the senders are different for the distributor you want to run. You also need the extension clips for the cap hold downs. You can pm me if you need any more info. Gary:)

Wow...so there's no way to just run it off the coil like a newer 12v tach?

Just for fun...I pulled it apart. Inside is 4 coils, some caps, and 3 wires. Green, black, and white. I'm gonna run this to my electrical guy up the street and see what he thinks.
I guess I'll probably call SW also....

  21. Ya. Hood meter.
That's how you spell hour meter after drinking rum.
