I've seen this car a few times over the last few years, I have a hunch it has some history. If this is the car I think it might be, I think it was originally the Pete Holmes/Ray McDonald SS/T car, that local street racer Tommy Asian bought with no motor and dropped in a sq. pt. 396 4-speed combo, and later added the gl*** nose. If thats the car it is, it sure gave a lot of us hell when Tommy owned it. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

That V8 bug has been around as long as there have been car shows. Nice workmanship. Yep. 35 years and that's all folks. I got people's choice which caught me totally of guard. Plaque says last picnic ever.
I kinda figured that 3 window might be his. Hes the same guy that had that gold '34 in R&C right? I have been searching around on the web, trying to find out more about this being the last one, but I haven't found anything yet. This show has been pretty much an annual tradition with me since the eighties. I still remember seeing Cam Grants Desoto powered highboy there for the first time. Back then there was NO "traditional" scene around here, and that car came out of nowhere. It was like seeing a mirage in the desert.
It was a good show. Rolled in for a few hrs. It was a good time, if anybody takes over the show and it happens next year I'll be there again. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
