Ok, is there a choke at all on this carb? Answer this question. BIG sheet of cardboard check list. Number it. And we shall ask a question. It will be answered, then checked off as we go.

  7. Am I seeing things, or is there a BOLT missing from the manifold to the cylinder head in the picture with the T-fitting and hoses? It almost looks like your finger is pointing right at it.

  8. This carb shows a standard run of the mill Holley manual choke set up. You can take off or disconnect that piece of wire that appears to be holding it in the half open/half closed position for now. The choke mechanism will have small detents that will hold it fully open or fully closed while you get it started/running. A universal choke cable runs around $7, a wise investment.

2 new pics showing your new 5/16 vac hose but nothing to see on the passenger side. Guess we need to just guess what you did with the vac lines there. Choke still looks the same.
Some better pics would be nice.

Not to resurrect the dead, but did this ever get resolved? I started reading this thread for info on the spreadbore adapter, but got sucked in because of the problem. I had the exact same thing happen to me once after rebuilding a Holley. It turned out the new metering block gasket was for a different model, and it was blocking the fuel to the idle circuit. The only way to keep the car running was to constantly blip the throttle. OK, back to lurking...
