I've been doing a Lot of research for a project I'm working on. I'm using a F100 axle because that's what I have and donot mind experimenting .
In a nutshell it will be quarter elliptical with hairpins. The question I have is most seem to be built with clevis's in single shear, but I'm wondering about using him joints so they are in double shear? This is similar to a front end that kardude built for his A sedan.
    Any comments? Thanks in advance.

My only comment is strength and what the joint was designed and engineered to originally do. The potential for stress beyond what the Heim is designed for says no to me.

If clevis's are the same ,for me it would be 1/2 the brackets to make. Anyone else?
