Just a reversed ford wheel, probably an aftermarket hoop if it's 15x8.

had those "camper specials" on my 64 Ford 1/2 ton....wish I could have pulled them off before I sold it...do have a pair the later caps fit that are 15x8's

think Honest Charleys had them in their catalogs....

  4. Looks like someone very neatly cut the centre hole out just a little to fit over a non Ford brake drum.

early 50s f1 have 15" and some late 40s mercs i believe. but that does look like its a reversed wheel. hard to tell is it a smoothie(40 ford type) center or does it have a bump? does it actually fit that cap? if its a real 15" ford center it be worth saving! you could change the hoops, in fact rally america will do it for you. http://www.rallyamerica.com/

Looks to be an aftermarket camper wheel to me. If it is a real Ford center, it will be stamped with the Ford script between the lug holes. Is it riveted or welded together? Good eye on the cut out center hole...

Just a guess, Maybe it is an IH wheel. They used the 5x5.5 bolt circle and had a bigger center hole. a 4x4 might have had bigger tires to use the 8" rim.

Jeep. Don't remember if Jeep used that style of hub cap.Could be a modified Ford center with custom hoop. IH used that cap with 4.5 BC. Don't know what IH 4X4 BC was.

Aftermarket in the 70s, not a real Ford.

  11. Jimmy I respect your knowledge but how do you explain the inside nubs ... looks like a early fifties f-1 that's been widened to me.

  12. I just marked a red & yellow line on the OPs pic. Is this a raised edge all the way around or just a dust line from the hubcap ? Raised edge for hubcap is aftermarket. If its a dust line it,s an original Ford centre with a bigger centre hole in a later hoop. Original pickup wheels did have a raised edge around the 5 bolt holes.

Ford used the hubcaps up into the mid sixties also, but these were just made to fit those hubcaps. You can tell them apart from real ones because they have a very slight ridge around the hubcap and have no ford stampings on them. Also, you can tell that haven't been widened because of the way they spot welded. That rim is the first rim that the center has been in. Also, I've only ever found this wheel in this configuration- 15x8, Reversed, deep offset. I have also seen some that have the center bore opened up wider and do not have any hubcap bumps, I ***ume those were for intended for Jeeps.

Thanks for all the input on these wheels. I was trying to find a narrower set for the front, so I could still run the hubcaps that came with my 48 F1. Yes the hubcaps in the pics stick on great with these wheels. Anyone know where I could get two narrower one that would also be able to use the stock hubcaps. Thanks again.

Lincoln has the same pattern as Ford truck, but would have the FoMoCo stamp.
