Working on a 57 Studebaker Commander. I had no left tail lamp. Reworked both tail lamps with new wires plus replaced the crossover wiring. Now the left tail lamp is brighter than the right, with the brakes applied, it reverses to the right side brighter than the left. Any ideas guys?

that sounds like a ground problem.

  3. Bulb sockets wired backwards,
    Crossover crossed
    1157 in backwards
    Bad ground

  4. Try running a designated ground wire from each of your lights to a good known ground as fender bolts are a poor subs***ute.

Guys, I flipped the left tail lamp socket 180 degrees. I now have it all...tail lamps, brake and turn signals. Thx for the feedback.
