  1. I was asking for help on how to cackle a Buick on nitro and the thread gets deleted...WTF???

I thought a subject like that was the kinda core stuff that The HAMB was built on...but I guess I was mistaken.

What is wrong with this place...????? :(

I'm just a retarded older guy who hasn't been here long. But I noticed all your cars are after 1965,,,,,,,,
    Could be your answer. FOCUS

I'm guessing that even though it is a cool car it is past the 65 cutoff as per the rules.

  5. Seriously....the World's only Buick-powered Buick funny car EVER built isn't of interest to the HAMB community...because it was built in 1967...the very first year of the flip-top floppers??? :(

It's kinda interesting to me. But Ryan is trying to get us back on focus and following the rules. 1965 and earlier is a rule. Personally I like the old hot rod rules of 1948 and older. That would really piss some of us off.

Bend the rules for your car, then we have to bend the rules for a 68 Camaro, and then the 70's van craze maybe?

Its a slippery slope, all of these things are cool, but the HAMB is trying to refocus on traditional hot rods and customs built in the pre- 65 styling.

Nothing personal, just not the place.

  8. Wow...just wow.

Then please delete this thread too and I will just go away and discuss Ingenue with people on other forums who will most appreciate her.

  9. Put it up on Dogfight, it's a bad *** car.

Great car, but this is a 65 and under forum. Sorry.

  11. John,

I can't answer your question and it is probably best directed at Ryan or one of the mods.

That Buick Funny is cool by the way, unless I am mistaken it is the only recognizable buick funny car that was ever built.

Well I see the boss beat me here.
There was an earlier thread about your Buick funny car thread getting closed.

That is one bad *** MoFo and id like to hear more about it.

I made a stink over it too John...Ryan says he loves your car...but its after the cutoff...which to me is total ********...old race cars have always been the accepted "rule breaker"....my thread is in the questions section if you'd like to see it

I miss the pre-48 rule too.

  15. OK guys I got it...an important piece of Buick and drag racing history isn't important to this community because it was built after 1965..WOW.

So I'll move on and go forward elsewhere and you guys can just go back to sticking your heads in the sand...

Why are you trying to push it on us? There are alot of drag forums to share it on, this is a hot rod and custom forum, not a drag forum. This and alot of other stuff did slide by/in, but Ryan is re-focusing and some suff is out, not just yours, dont take it so personal.

  19. For the record I'm not trying to push anything on anyone...I've been a member here since 2009 and boy,it was sure welcome back then...but I guess **** changes.

Anyhow's not my sandbox so I'll close my 13 thread subscriptions and delete HAMB from my favorites...certainly not my loss.

( would be nice to have later models in )

rules are there for a reason and cant be adjusted ( not for 20 cars or for 1 car )

Darn John. Isn't there anything else here that interests you? Musclecars are not the only things on here to enjoy.

man, it's a 67 skylark if i remember right? SIXTY SEVEN. too new, period

Ryan is working hard to re-focus the board, and while admittedly that car is cool as hell, it does not meet board criteria. running off and pouting will not change that... trust me, you aren't the first person to have a thread either closed, locked, edited or deleted.

shake it off, take a deep breath and grow your skin a little thicker man

I think you guys are missing something.. the point is that until a few days ago Johns funny car was widely accepted, and for the guys that say drag racing has no reason to be on a hot rod site...let me remind you that the largest thread on here is about DRAG RACING. .started by a moderator, its so large Ryan was gonna close it due to bandwidth. ..but decided to leave it open....id be pissed too, in fact I was and I dont own the car.. ive also noticed ot the same guys commenting in all the new posts...ill leave my opinion of them to myself.

drag racing is acceptable, just 65 on back ...

so we are going to bend one rule, than what makes you think that others would want the same ...

    rules are rules ...

  25. I do think some here are missing a few points.
Up until a few days ago the Hamb was status quo, just before September 1 there was an announcement by ryan that changes were coming to the Hamb.
    Focus, casualties and maybe more.

I think the car deserves to be here but this ain't my joint. A vintage dedicated race car should have a little wiggle room especially that one. Maybe he can post it in the drag racing thread?

Sorry fellas... Like I said, we are staying focused on 65 and older. It's not a personal thing, so I don't know why a couple of posters are taking it as such. It's an editorial decision.

Great car... And it's welcomed on dogfightmag.com.
