A little while back, i traded a motorcycle for a 1928 buick roadster body, and now i'm collecting parts. I've already started squaring up the body. [IMG]

Sorry speedster I wll get those measurments for ya, but kep in mind mine is a 26 roadster so there might be a little difference.

On the 26 roadster. These measurements are across the car or side to side.
The measurement from the rear portion of the door at the top of the body is 50 inches.
The rear portion of the door at the bottom sill is 44 inches.
At the cowl where the door closes at the bottom sill it is 39 inches.
most of these are just what I came up with when squaring up my 26, but the doors and the flow of the body front to rear lines up real good.
I hope this helps, if ya need anymore let me know...John

Ghost, I'll say thanks for him. In spite of being 14, he's a bit of a Ludite and doesn't log on to these computer things much. Spends too much time hanging 'round those old hot rodders. (Mostly me and 36Tbird)

He did a pretty fine job bending up some door jambs. I'll pester him to get some more pictures up. The measurements should help. His car's a bit flappy and we didn't have anywhere to start.

(luddite.) He can't be tearing up stuff that bad, and at 14 years of age and working on a Buick roadster he is already my idol. If he needs more help with any measurements just let me know.....Thanks for the pictures...

This weekend i'm going with my pops (cavemanracing) to go pick up a truck body for his rod, then it's back to the garage to work on my car. I'm already thinking 3 - 4" channel to drop it over the 'rails, and spring behind front end, with wide fives and (eventually) buick power, but for now i'll stick with a 307 chevy.

Well after a busy summer, he got enough saved up for a chassis. Found one east of town where it was used as a water wagon on a farm. Guess that makes it a almost a barn find. :D
He spent all afternoon with a Sawzall and a cut off wheel getting rid of the tank mounts. And that's in 100F heat. The kid wants it.
He's trying to work a deal now with my boss to help him sell stuff at swap meets in exchange for a Nailhead.

Dang Kid !!! Your working on a 28 Buick Roadster and you kinda look like a Young Tommy Ivo !!! Hang in there !!! I have a feeling that we will always hear Good Things about You and the 28.
Working with an Old GM body after the termites ate the wood is something most full grown men won't Tackle. I will be watching your build. I am IMPRESSED....... Jeff

cool that you have some guidance. I tried at your age, actually I was a bit younger, but my Dad worked 2 jobs, so I had to figure it out by mistakes....lots of them...for a long time :)
