not to keep rubbing a sore spot, but WHERE is the VIN stamped or tagged on that truck, just because he "gave" you the VIN, that could be off any truck ***le and not tied to the truck itself....
not only does that thing look like a hat full of puckered ***es, it's too much money for someone elses troubles. for $3500 you can get a LOT better project with a LOT less headache. for the original asking price of $6k you can get a WAY better running, driving project you can slowly work on with your son... i see this thing as a good way to throw away money you'll never see again, and you'll lose interest because of the trouble you'd be buying walk away and don't look back man
I would not buy it. I bought a much better 59' half ton short bed on a 91' frame and running gear that runs and drives, has four brand new fenders, extra rust free doors, etc for $1500. Even $3500 is way too much for that one.
