I just had a thread deleted because the engine in my rod is a '88 318 mopar. Why delete because of age/ it looks like a '68 but is a '88,which was cheaper. it is in my '34 so why not let me figure out this mid year BS? It's about CARBS,not FI. I feel i'm due an intelligent explanation. thanks

Might be best to take this up with the moderators via private message.

Typical post god crap. They get by posting about their dead cat. Other users cant post a picture of a 1970 carb.

Ryan was courteous enough not to delete this, but what about those of us who use overdrive trans and these motors that look like they did for 20-30 years? I know it his site but things like this diminish the site. a site that doesn't grow will shrink. I love this site, have had to sign on in different names when I couldn't log back on. Reality got me away from flatheads 50 years ago and I'll never go back. I have some cars with O"T engines that never get mentioned here but a 318? give me a break

I'm with the moderators. They have to draw the line someplace and it is always going to be a judgement call. No matter where they put it, you could say why not 1/8" to the left or right.

I say this as someone who has started 5 threads and 4 of them got deleted.

I would have lied and said it was a '57 318, not an '88. Forum is pre '63, pretty much explains it.

  7. Didn't the LA engine start in '64 with the 273? The forum is '65 and older traditional stuff. I'm guessing 1 year old Chryslers engines weren't used much in hotrods in '65.

FOCUS. Friends and moderators will define the grey area, but mentioning an '88 318 is asking for the line to be scratched away. And threads about deleted threads, usually get deleted.

    Or moved. :D

Anteek49 I hear some of what I think coming from you.
You gotta sit back and take in the grandeur of this site, though.
Ryan Cochran says whats what. He has said HE might change his mind on these things a little.
    I've been deleted, too.
Go look at "Vintage Shots of Days Gone By" thread here for awhile.
    It's breathtaking...

the fact it came out of a '88 is only relevant because for one year they did this port size BS. This engine has 273 valve covers and air cleaner. straight blade fan. dual point dist. headers. This is why I keep beating this horse. a 350 with 327 valvecovers. I'll bet there aren't 5 guys on here can look at it and tell the year.......most wouldn't know a 318 from a 273. My .02 ,same old BS.

BS... OK... Should I close your account then? Is that what you are trying to get done here? Happy to help you out.

This site isn't ran on your definition of traditional. And quite frankly, we are doing the very best we can. I realize that this isn't up to some folk's standards, but most of those folks are willing to be mature about it. If you're not, I just assume you find another forum.
