    I am a new member.

Cars have been a part of my life, like most men, since pre-teen years, driving hay trucks, tractors, etc. I purchased my first pickup at 13, spent $15 for a 48 Studebaker pickup. I have rebuilt a 46 Ford two door sedan to original. I also built a 66 Chevy II for a daily driver, drove it for 8 years.

Recently, I purchased a 56 Chevy Pickup wrap-around to build a mild rod out of, yet keeping the look as stock as possible. I would like to put an LS-1, 700R, and a 12 bolt set up.

    Thanks

Howdy from Tucson, mines a 56 wrap around with a camaro clip and shockwave air bags. probably goin with a reliable stock 350/700r4. I have a 9 inch ford rear end , have to get it cut down a little, may go with something else later.
I did the front clip myself with help from a DVD made by some suspension guys in Souther Cal. can't remember the name of the shop, but pretty informative, looks like it was made in the early eighties, but the clip came out pretty good.Maybe I'll see ya at a show sometime, mike.

Welcome from Oklahoma. Good luck with your project. We're dragging a 55 out of the brush that has been sitting in the same spot almost 40 years this weekend for my son in law to build.

Unfortunately, I do not have any photos of the 48. It was dent free, rust free, all original, drove great. One of my high school buddies bought it, he still has it. I will look forward to seeing yours, is yours also a 48?
