Definitely go Pertronix... They have ads in most ofour magazines, along with their website.

If electronic is acceptable then why not use a Mopar system? The older caps and rotors are not cheap when needed and the Mopar replacement parts are available everywhere...you can ***emble a system from boneyard parts if you don't want to buy a performance package (P3690426)
...IIRC pertronix parts are not inexpensive or readily available everywhere...

I'm running the 270 Dodge Hemi in My '55. Don't know if the distributor is the same as in the 325 but I installed a stock Mopar electronic unit from a early 80's low deck 318. Drop in. Get the ignition module, hook it up and go.

Only the 241-260-270 are a drop-in. The 315-325 uses the same 'newer-taller' intermediate shaft/gear as the DeSoto and the 331-354. Yes, it is also possible to extend the tang on the dist shaft but then you have a one-off part. No big deal to some and huge problem for others...

  9. For me, right now I'm good with points..easy to change, carry an extra set......i carry a small tool pouch with miscellaneous goodies in it for the road...

So, anyone got the right part number??

    Standard brand "Blue Streak"

    59-57 - ALL...AL4652XP POINTS
    56-50 SAME EXCEPT - IAP DIST - AL-5657XP - POINTS

CONDESERS LOOK THE SAME FOR ALL YEARS - AL-118X

    ROTOR - 59-57 - AL-111X
    56 - 50 - IAP DIST - AL-118X

    CAP 59-56 ALL - AL-130
    56-50 - IAP DIST - AL-98

there is a 56 dist that is the same as 57 up but it doesn't give the # like the IAP and IGS are the same...

  13. ordered these 59-57 - ALL...AL4652XP POINTS and they would mount on the opisite side of the dizzy................also the Holley dizzy that came in my first hemi, 354, mounts similar to my 325 dizzy..except the 354 has a second hold down screw by the mounting pole..........
