calling all photoshoppers! tail light ideas?

I have just bought this nice old 54 F100 and I am probably gonna have to swap these tail lights over for something more compliant with our registration authorities, you dig? Anyone got any ideas? I'm all ears....


Something which has brake, tail, blinker combined...
All thoughts, ideas, etc, warmly appreciated.

I was thinking early vw, but they're kind of plain. Something with chrome surroundings would be nice?

 

I've seen '49 Merc taillights that look right at home on those fenders.

I used some 1949 Kaiser tail lights I found online.

 

use a stock looking light and stand.

 

I caught hell for buying a set of the '59 Caddy taillights for my '49 Dodge truck ("Keep your MoPar ALL MoPar" etc...) so I dug around and found a set of 61 Plymouth taillights and '62 Plymouth reverse lights... I'm sure that there are plenty of other "better ideas" from Ford from the late 50's early 60's that could be adapted to your truck?

I LIKE the shot above of the primer truck with the car taillight that looks like it came that way from the factory!!!

 

Factory lights would look good on that bed, maybe tucked in tight to the box.
