those are hard to come by, there are identical ones new at walmart for 5 bucks a peice in the boat and marine section. (the back of sporting goods.) Just an fyi...

  7. I think thats a pretty rare vw option isn't it?

  8. Luckystiff, is the base welded to the floorpan? just so I know what to take to the junkyard.

It would not be hard to make a little arm that has a locking pin on it, very low tech enginering. even if you weld shitty you could put that together. Like the bottom of any modern seat track.

The driver, passenger, and recliner seat in my motorhome all swivel and lock, plus the driver and passenger seats slide back and forth. The mechanisms are heavy duty, the pedestal would have to be cut down, but they would work. Look for older (pre-90) class A (Big ones) motor homes because the pedestals were shorter. Check with a RV dealer in your area.

go to your local vw guru. if he ain't got a westie out back with some he can probably tell you where to get 'em. they are gonna run you $75-100 probably maybe more depending on demand in your area. i guess i have now fucked myself in keeping a check on ebay. i've found a set locally but the guy is a flake who works out of town and was supposed to leave them with said vw guru weeks ago and has forgot everytime he's home. this guy wants $80 bucks and says he has tracks(didn't get tracks with my seats so i'm gonna use everything from the vw) to go with 'em. i haven't hounded the guy because the buick also jumped time a week or so ago so i got bigger fish to fry. oh yeah these DO LOCK for those who asked. good luck now the ebay price will skyrocket. also for anyone interested i'm going to look at a 65 tbird tommorrow for parts so i may have a tbird interior available...ken....

    abe,
i believe they are bolted in. if you find a secret source let me know. remember who hooked you up on the tattoo art.haha. good luck...ken....

I didn't know they were rare, or expensive... Mrs. 'lucky's had a transporter for years- it's been parked since we met (4+ years.) Well last month she sold it, but part of the bargain was that I had to re-upholster the front seats. I took the passenger seat out and what do you know!?- there's a swivel in there! I figured they all came that way. I also figured they would be cheap, I mean, 70's busses, gotta be cheap. I guess I was wrong. Well, I'm off to the VW junkyard- see you guys on ebay. [IMG]
