Ryan,I remember in the past some of the threads were lost,,my question or concern is will we lose what I consider words of wisdom from our Emeritus members like C9,Deuce Roadster,Casey and many others? HRP
Cross the Bridge when we get to it. Knowing Ryan from here and one of his other forums the Garage Journal I am sure it will all be good. "Don't panic".
The owner has a plan. Let's go with it. 50% of the current posts could be deleted, and no one would even notice. If you have favorite posts, it is pretty easy to hit the print ****on. Change is traditional.

That was my only worry. I have over 500 posts that I subscribed to because there was a little bit of tech info I wanted to save. Im sure there are more than a few that were a bit off topic. I have found a ton of relevant info in posts that have stretched the traditional bent of the HAMB.
Not related to the OP, but Ryan, you posted this in your "There will be casualties" thread... "I should also mention... I NEED HELP FROM YOU GUYS!!!! If you see an inappropriate thread or post, please use this ****on: I'm not telling you to go hunting for bad threads as frankly, I probably couldn't handle the result at the moment. But if you see them, please report them. Thanks!" Well below the message box there is this note. "Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (har***ment, fighting, or rude) posts." Nothing regarding things being OT, just a bit confusing to dumb ol' me, hell maybe you have this already addressed in the improved HAMB, just thought I would put it out there. Thanks guys...
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/search.php?searchid=7863672 Here's 55 of s10 frame swap **** I didn't have the heart to flood the report chamber with them. I gotta say I was really sad to see the "aluminum body for a corvette" thread closed. One of my favorites for sure.
We are working on it... As for the aluminum body car, it's cool as hell... But it's also a 76 corvette... and you have to admit, that's pretty far from our focus.
Yea there's no question about that 76 vette being off topic. what I got out of that thread was the craftsman ship, the ingenuity, any the talent, metal shaping. The fact that it was once a vette is only a tiny infraction. He wasn't building a 76 vette, 90% of the vette went into the dumpster but was building a really cool 50s inspired racing body. Because of that thread it got me thinking on doing a rebody project but similar to the EFIYJ concept car styling with more traditional flavor and ****e. What if he were building that very same body on a wooden buck? I'd imagine that would be ok and probably better for the new changes. Just sad to see it go
Hopefully we don't get a vigilante effect going as far as reporting posts. In the grand scheme of things, a frame swap is no where near as "incorrect" as using a complete late model frame and running gear. But neither is within the scope being covered here. There are numerous builds on here by very talented craftsmen. But other than having "vintage" looking sheet metal parts, they have nothing to do with hot rods and/or customs. And I have been personally blasted by other members in the past for pointing that out.
I don't know if I should report my own build thread or not being a 302, t5, and 8" rear powered truck. What do you think HRP? I don't mind either way.
You already know I did a complete build thread on the '54 Ranch Wagon and there was a 302/5 speed involved,,I would think you could post it in the General discussion section, From what I have been able to ascertain builds along the lines are cool but not a hot rod or custom along the traditional scene, but I don't make policy here and I'm sure a lot of guys are happy about that! HRP
Iv got a clean S10 but it turns out its missing its frame .. Is it ok to ask about swapping in a 36 ford frame ?
