I love this hot rod. But I don't know what rims and hub caps are on this 32. Are they small hub caps or are they partially painted black? What are they? Thanks
This place can tell;http://www.rallyamerica.com/index.html Looks like sometype smooth inter rim with a small cap. IMHO there are two misstakes though that you could avoid, the rear axle or rear rim offset is making the rear tire too close into body I think and gives no room for bumps, looks bad to me. The front tires are nice for drit racing but totaly suck for street driving=have ribs for turning in drit and you see that type on tractors,do not hold well for stopping/braking,guys seem to pick ribed tires for the look, but they just look like they don't know crap about tires.
These look similar to 1937 Ford caps with the outer couple of inches painted. Can't tell from the picture if the v8 is in there or not. Hope this helps. I agree with dana barlow about the clearance of the rear tires are too close to the body and the front tires just look like the guy doesn't know enough about tires.
To me, those look like wide 5 hubcaps (36-39 Ford) with smooth centers on them, they don't look like smoothie wheels to me. The caps may have been modified to fit a different rim. Picture is too shadowy to really tell though. You'd be better off to find out who's car it is and ask.
Search (36-39 Ford) on Google or search of your choice and you will see many different hubcaps that are close to this. Hope you find what you are looking for.
Hey Brady. The car is in Rodder's Journal #58, and the front wheels are original Ford steel wheels like the ones you got from me, and the rears are from Rally America and measure 18X5. The caps are '40 standard caps that are partially painted to expose just the inner circle.
Brandy....know the feeling....like Chip ? said....standard caps for the years were smooth.....without the V/8 on them..... lwf
