I am looking for a 3-speed shifter and came across some in a Speedway Race catalog #358 page 160. The shifter has 2 shift levers. How do you shift them? Start off in first ,move the lever to natural, grab the other lever move it to second and then to third? I think it would look good but how would it be on a street car? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/3-Speed-Stock-Car-Racing-Shifter,1929.html Fred
That's intended for a stock car that you put in a certain gear and leave it there for the entire race, and fast shifting is not a priority. I'd consider it to be more of a pain in the *** than it's worth for a street vehicle.
I don't know if anyone is making H pattern 3 speed shifters anymore. There are always several on Evil Bay though. Mr Gasket used to make a good one. Sparkomatics are so so. Wont take much abuse. The Hurst Indy shifters are about the best but pretty pricey sometimes.

I never fail to see used Hurst 3 speed shifters at any swap meet I attend; as is the case on too many things these days, you're better off buying a used 50 year old Hurst and cleaning it up rather than spending money on a new piece of ****.
Hurst still makes the Mastershift 3 speed. About 320 bucks with the install kit. http://www.jegs.com/i/Hurst/530/366-7271/10002/-1
Case in point.....I bought a shifter identical to that at a swap meet a few weeks ago, in good condition, for $15.00. 3 speed shifters can usually be had cheap.
