Whereabouts of a Green 35 Ford Slantback

  1. Amazing how cars can disappear like this one, I figure it must be stored in some ones garage and forgotten....

Thanks for posting this. I used to drive to North OKC from Norman for work about 25 to 30 years ago. Remember seeing that chopped sedan every day sitting outside an old brick shop building (which was pretty cool as well).

I hope you find the whereabouts. Certainly was a unique build for a 35 sedan. That car and a few others always brightened my morning commute.:)

I remember the first time I met Todd and got to see this 35. It was definitely cool and I appreciate it even more now. I believe you took me out to Todd's house Tim. :D

Neat car. One of the few post 34 Hiboy builds that "worked".

Sometimes cars get salted away or back burnered due to other life interests and commitments. Maybe owned by someone that loves it, but only takes it out once in awhile (and not to Rod Runs or shows where one of "us" would have seen/recognized it).

After 20+ years, chances are that the car is in a garage, not running and at least partially torn down for a repair or rebuild. Typically something like engine trouble or a fender bender instigates a partial tear down. Next thing you know, the engine is out and the body is off the frame and it sits blown apart for a decade.

Hopefully, the car exists as is and didn't get Street Rodded; fenders added, 350/350 swap, repainted. We'd never recognize it!

If anyone is looking to recreate something like this car, there is a real clean 35 slantback here in Prescott, AZ. Search Prescott, AZ craigslist under 35 Slantback. The owner has health issues and might be willing to deal.

Let's keep this going. Someone knows. I am pretty sure that
I got the letter from Stan Darger out of Hot Rod Mechanix magazine. Love to know the rest of this story.

I found an email for the Stan Darger in Dallas and send him an email. We will see if he is the same guy.

  20. I would really like to build a car inspired by this one someday, but a roadster is in my heart first...

Wow...I had forgot about this thread. Can’t believe we haven’t found this car yet.

  27. It was an all around nice package. I hope it has survived in a close condition to what it was.
