My 1956 Model 374 has what I've been told a F300 engine. Is it possible to have that engine in this model? Seems to me that the F300 engines were not being placed in Divco's until the 60s? Can someone correct me on this?

Some of the questions you have can be answered on here, but a dedicated forum to your Divco may be of more help?

Divco Club of America - Discussion Forum here is a forum for them, not trying to run you off, it's just a suggestion.

  3. The info I have says model 374 should have a Hercules flat head 6 229.6 cu in. Unfortunately, My info does not include year. A ford 300 would be OHV.

If this is a f300 it would not obviously be the original correct?

Divco sold many engine retro fit kits. As far as the club, I think the $30 gets you a newsletter. I can give you leads on parts, email me. Divco100b@atlanticbb.net

Give us some pics of the engine and someone will identify it. Serial numbers help too. Not casting numbers, stamped serial numbers.

If F300 means the Ford 300 cu in truck six, that was not being made in 1956. It debuted in 1964 or thereabouts.

From what I can see it kind of looks like a Ford 300 six.

Since its a 56 its not the original motor,if it runs good leave it alone as I bet it would be better then what came in it originally and easier to get parts for.

I saw a 1 minute video, 1/3 the width of the screen, showing about 1/4 of the valve cover of some kind of OHV straight six, blocked by a gas can and battery.

Hey it runs what more do you want?
