I'm doing new wiring harness in my 50 ford with 289 * Where did you guys mount fuse box ? -- Lets see pictures !
I know many seem to think you need to buy an aftermarket wiring harness , as an alternative look at '90's GM cars , some had a "swing down" fuse box that would really work well where space is limited. dave
my 50 poncho it was next to the gas pedal above the trans , the new harness ( with ATc fuses ) and block are going to be on the bulkhead high up like a Newer car out of line of sight , I might leave the old panel in just for looks as the cover is neat looking . or I might mount it behind were the radio speaker was at as there is plenty of room to get at it and the firewall is flat there, I am using a 70's GM style style of fuse block , a freind of mine used a late model ford block and hid it under the hood , its dressed up to look like a surge tank
Pulled all the old wiring out of our shoebox too, what a rats nest, no fuses in the system . So yes am interested in this too.but guess it will be with in reach and just out of sight between column and kick panel.
behind the glove box. easy to get to if theres a problem, sit on the floor and duck a bit its right there. out of sight when your not needing to see it.
