Hello, I'm a newbie, found this forum on a Google search and thought I'd yoss my problem out for input. I have a 1968 F100 ranger, long bed originally a 390 with a 3 on the tree. I switched to a 5.0 with s 5 speed, modified a few things, have everything installed, working and ready to go except ONE thing.....I can't work my clutch. The 5speed is out of a 98 Mustang, which require s a cable to pull the fork, my truck has the Z bar set up that is designed to push the fork. I'm at the point ehere I have everything hookef up except for the cable to my pedal. If I had a mustang id apparently be in luck with the $#@load of parts available. Im looking for the easiest possible eay to hook this up.....any help greatly appreciated
Looks like self-adjusting clutch cable and clutch pedal and pedal hanger from the mustang. Or remove the trans and install hydraulic t/o brg, use hydraulic line and hydraulic clutch master. BTW, tough rules here. No post 1965 stuff. Gotta introduce yourself first. Then post question. Good luck
hydraulic clutch is your best option, its the same as a 1965 so just edit your post with the older model years! matt
Sorry for the mispost and introduction. I took care of the intro and decided to go hydraulic, installed the master cylinder the other night....looking forward to making a bracket for the slave cylinder. ....plumbing it and hopefully driving it. Just hope I don't have many major issues/bugs to work out......has definitely been a fun and educational modification Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
