No, but I'm gonna try it.

Shouldn't this be in the new cooking forum?

Could not be more user friendly! I knew that you and your brain trust would come up with something for (practically) everyone.

    Ryan,
    Thanks for the hard work.
I like the "old HAMB", but see the reasoning and appreciate the desire to throw the new forums into the mix. I think in the long run it will be very helpful for looking for specific info about a certain type of build.
I'm old and set in my ways but as much as I kick and scream I must accept change. Thanks again for working to improve the "HAMB".

Thank you for the new structure!
This seems like the perfect solution for all!

For me this makes the HAMB much more appealing. It's been kind of frustrating to start reading a build thread of some very interesting car, skip some pages ahead, and in nine cases out of ten ending up seeing airbags, radials, late model engine, etc... then go to next build thread and so on..

two things i have noticed this morning (could be me doing something wrong). the friday art show doesnt seem to be showing up in the catch all form. also the search feature in the catch all doesnt seem to be working. any thoughts?

i tried the search in the other forums and they work.

  8. You can still read the board the way you prefer!

I have to say the Mods are doing an incredible job moving off topic threads out of the Forums they do not belong in. Well done guys!!!

  10. I like this structure, mix of the old hamb, yet streamlining it so that true purists have a couple forums to focus on, I think you did a good job in trying to make the largest majority happy, there is someone for everyone!

It's clear these changes will preserve the ideals and will surely make Hamb more concentrated. Digging it!

Looks good! Am now reclining in my seat. "The more things change the more they stay the same"...I don't know who said that. " I'll let ya be in my dream if I can be in your dream" Bob Dylan said that. Thanks man!

I must admit all these changes are a bit confusing but thats probably just me, I'll get used to it in time.

  18. You can cook a cat that way also, but I prefer putting them in the microwave for a few minutes first! LOL

Back when I was a teen there was an old coot who lived at the local auto wreckers, a night watchman if you will. One evening I stopped in for parts and there he was sitting outside on an old bench seat with a fire going and something simmering in a hub cap above it. My friend peered in and said "That looks like a rat". He replied "I don't eat rats boy, that's cat".

The new format looks great and has enough options to take of most people. There are a lot of forums out there but very few with over 7millions posts. It grew to big for the old format. Good job!

    Ryan,
Kudos to you for adding to the, already fantastic, Jalopyjournal family of forums!

I have been here since 2003 and have enjoyed a plethora of information, pictures and online friendships and connections, that would have never happened had it not been for this place.

In 2007 I established the traditional-hotrods.dk forum.... being in danish and mostly for the Scandinavian audience, it was destined for no greatness at all.
Furthermore I was determined to keep it period authentic in regards to the grand skeme of things. Sure.... there will be T-5's behind flatheads and 8" rears, but I wanted to keep it all looking right.
There was words for and against, but like you I got selfish! If it couldn't stay traditional, it might as well die right there in it's day of conception.

5 years later we're still going strong! Sure, there is probably only 40 regulars out of the 351 registered members, but there also seems to be a lot of international lurkers!

At the end of the day, as you have been forced to find, you can't keep everyone happy...... so why not do what makes yourself happy?
Starting jalopyjournal.com in the first place, filled a void. It gave us all a common meeting ground and gave us the proverbial speakers box, on the flat piece of tarmac we all like to call our playground.
For that alone, you are a "hero" in my book ;-)

My two cents, for whatever it's worth

The HAMB was powerful before...but even more so now.

Just has a couple extra levers and ****ons. Don't forget to pop the chute!

  26. I still like to see a bit of everything, though I'm probably in the trad. styled leaning tward the trad. correct, I still learn from all the "unrelated posts" so I think ill be sticking with the old ways of reading and finding for now , thanks for a great site boss, mods and all those that contribute in a positive manor.

i think this is great and the best option, especially the "inspired" section cause there are so many damn great traditional cars on here already that have unseen or hidden modern parts. i for one want to own both kind one day a period correct hot rod, and a mostly correct hot rod with as much power as i can afford and a manual transmission
i can beat the **** out of without breaking it.........

I like it, but am still learning terms..... Hope you guys are patient With me anyways.... Like I said, I like it.

  30. Soo...

    All the arguments over
    Gl*** vs. steel
    Radials vs. Bias ply
    SBC vs. Flathead

    Are all solved now.

Period correct for 1964 is way different than period correct for 1950.

I hope the moderators are prepared for all the "periods" that people are bound to be experiencing more than every 28 days.
