Which fuel pump???

I'm ***embling all the new parts for my new 350 long block and I was looking for some info regarding mechanical fuel pumps. I'd like to get a pump with NPT fittings for both the inlet and outlet. The motor is going to be pretty mild. Maybe 300 hp/350tq.

I've checked out summit, jegs, etc and from what I hear, Carter makes some of the highest quality and most dependable pumps, which is what I'm looking for. I like the Carter M4891 model, but its rated at 120 gph.

Would that be too much pump for a mild 350 sbc?

 

Your carb will only take what it needs. That Carter should be good.

I've used the Holley mechanical pumps in the past with good results. It has NPT fittings and the housing is clockable.

The 80 GPH one will be fine for your needs, plus it's a wee bit cheaper.

 

I am sure it will work fine but you will have to use a regulator if you are running a eddy carb.

 

Nope. Going to be running a Holley 4010, preferably without a regulator.
