I came across this engine today and would like to know it's year, make and model as to what it is. The Casting number behind the starter is E9AE-6015-AA-14. Can someone decode this? Thanks, jim

Here's a few more photos. Is there anything special about the exhaust headers?

That would be a Windsor. 351C is completely different, and was not made in the 80's.
Nothing really special about the headers, they're aftermarket shorties to match up to the stock exhaust. I was thinking that looks like a truck pan, but I could be wrong on that - especially since oldolds already said car. Probably a 140 amp alternator, being a newer style, and cool valve covers that would look nice with a little elbow grease.
I'm not sure what a 351 would have come out of, car wise, in '89? Crown Vic maybe?

Regardless, OT would be off topic, as in this is not a vintage engine... depending on your definition of vintage. The 351 W was available in '69, although not a very common swap for hot rods. Different water pump and pulleys (that one is reverse rotation for the serpentine belt - def. not vintage) and an old style alternator and brackets, and it would look right for a 60's style build

Kamp's right the oilpan is a truck pan, valve covers are factory 82 to 85 Mustang 5.0 finned aluminum covers, also came on police ltd ii'S FROM 83 TO 85 with the 5.0/302cu. Engine. Headers are aftermarket shorties. Good powerplant, plenty of aftermarket parts for them.
