    Yes I know another carb thread. Ok I decided to go with a Edlebrock 1605 600cfm carb for my mild 350. Any suggestion on set up.

    Motor is a chevy 350 with a duel plane intake edlebrock and mild edlebrock cam. Bored .60 over with 305 HO heads. I have a fuel pressure regulator I know to set this around 3 - 4 psi. Holley mechanical fuel pump. I know I will have to do a little a fine tuning. Looking fo suggestion on setting this carb up.

  2. i'm not familiar with an Edelbrock # 1605 carburetor.....is that a new model?

    I think it's a 1405. I would run it right out of the box and see how it performs for you.

    All I can add is before you install it, check both float level and drop, as QC seems a little loose on this and most times it's off.
    Easier to check and correct {if needed) now than after you install. If you bought new, the manual encloosed in the box is very good on this peocedure. If you got used or otherwise don't have the manual I think it can be downloaded from Edelbrock site.

    You very seldom have to do anything more than set idle speed right out of the box. Great carbs and I use them before a Holley for street applications.

    Have the same carb, same engine, same specs, and did nothing to it and have no regulator with mech fuel pump, runs like a champ...

    First of all sorry for the miss ***le typing to fast and no proff reading equals looking stupid. Got the carb on. WOW what difference. Woke up my motor. It feels a little boggy on the top end I am going to put a fuel regulator on tonight to see if that helps also going to adjust idle screws a little more and va***n tune it. Very Happy with it.

    Like the others stated it should work fine out of the box although I would raise the fuel pressure closer to 5psi instead of 3 to 4.

    You may want to change the step-up springs first. Your carb came with the 5 inch spring.

    Take a look at this;

    If you did not get a manual down load one It will answer most questions I've had the best luck the 1406 tune they seem to run as well and get better milage.
