I was planning to run f1 brakes up front, however, I'm struggling to find 4" or 4.5" rims with a 5x5.5 pattern. Any recommendations? Thoughts on using a speedway adapter to make it a 5x4.5 pattern?

Look for early Willys Jeep rims. They have a 5 on 5.5" pattern, and come in 15"x4" or 15"x4.5", can't remember exactly which. Not sure what years exactly, but they are fairly common. Only potential hiccup would be that they require tires with tubes, and the center hub register is huge because they were design for 4wd hubs.

    40-41 ford wheels are 5 X 5.5" and 4" wide. 42-48 ford will be 4.5" wide.

  4. don't use wheel adapters , you can re-drill the F1 brakes any pattern you want

    What diameter ? 15" or 16"
    If 16" use '40-'41 Ford.
If 15" use a 4" VW hoop with a turned down 16" '40 to '48 center, weld together, common procedure a few years ago.
