Just picked up a 59 Ford Fairlane to ride around in while I build my 56 F100, i was shocked at how great they look in person and they dont command that much $$$, definitely a best bang for your buck ride...and believe it or not they look better in person than they do in photos...i'm stoked

i really like the 2 door, do you know what cars they shared parts with? my e-brake pedal mech pops out when pressed down 3/4 down, I would like to replace it.....i'm guessing it would be a part out of the common parts bin...any help would be great

  9. I don't know what else would work for ya. My thoughts are tighten or loosen the cable adjustment to get past the bad tooth on the ratchet unit so it will hold. By the way here's a few shots of my 59. Your right, they are much over looked. I've been thinking it needs a new home but have not done anything to make that happen yet. I keep thinking a Watson style paint job and some Astro Supremes would make me Love it more but haven't done that either. What's wrong with me?

Most likely the teeth on the ratchet ***embly are no longer meshing, often due to wear in the pivot points. Best and cheapest fix would be to replace the ratchet ***embly with a known good one.

apparently my father has some fun times back in the day in a fairlane including tying up one of this buddies in his crew throwing him in the trunk and strapping his hand to the rear bumper so his arm hung out while they drove around for the day....i was shocked when he told me that story a few days ago lol
