I have an old model 240 with the fuel bowl on the bottom. Put power to it and it hums. Take power off and it squirts. Did these require a "Driver" box or is there something wrong with this one? Something to cycle the power so it will pump.
I have one too and if i'm not mistaken the outlet (carb side) needs to be hooked up to a carb for it to work. The pump runs all the time and sences when the float opens and closes to turn the flow on and off. The fact that it squirts sounds like it pressureizes. I would hook it up to a carb and see what it does. Iv'e been using mine for almost 20 years and it still works great.
