after searching the h.a.m.b. and asking questions myself, i had been all ready to order astros from ken esajian, seems to have the best deal and nothing but high praise from everyone here. cool. but after re-looking at his website it says his astros are uni-lug?!

i don't know why this doesn't sit well with me but it doesn't. am i being overly cautious? and i know its going to be a pain to find those weirdo lug nuts that uni-lug requires in a left hand thread, (its a mopar and i cant really change the studs easily as its my daily and i dont have that much time)

so any other suggestions? i live pretty close to san jose so i thought about giving gambino customs a call, has anyone bought astros from him , are they uni-lug, are they near the same price as ken's.

    thanks in advance

got astros to put on my 61 Dodge. got the backwards assed lug nuts at Allied Auto in Fremont. I'm sure they are a regular stock item at any good parts house.

the lugs are regular mag type lugs, they are no different for unilug, they just go in a slot rather than a hole. the astros have no special washers or anything.

I talked to Esajian Wheels on Wednesday, they no longer sell Astros. Or so they told me. They directed me to GDC, or GZC...I couldn't understand the guy on the phone. This is the company that makes Astro's for Ken. I told them I needed them soon, and he never called me back with a price or a ballpark shipping date, but he said they'd be around $150 a wheel for a 15x7. That was with no caps, and no lugs and you'd still have to pay shipping, and they didn't know how long it would take to build them.

I called Pete Paulsen wheels, and his are around $159 a wheel. Those are for the new Astros...the ones that aren't uni-lug. This was for a 15x7 and a 5 on 5 bolt pattern. He said it would take about 4 weeks. Here in Detroit, we don't have that much summertime, so 4 weeks wasn't going to get it.

However, I called a place in Provo, Utah called Coys Wheel. I ordered the uni-lug Astros and he's shipping them to my house in Metro Detroit for $505. That's for 4 wheels, bullet center caps, bullet mag lugs with the washers and shipping! He said I'd have them in a week to 10 days. The phone number there is 801-356-2929. This was the best deal BY FAR on Astros I've found yet..and I've been calling EVERYONE for a week!

It sucks that Ken Esajian is no longer selling Astro's, but this guy sounds like he's picking up where Ken left off, and he doesn't even know it.

The guy I dealt with, his name is James. I'm not affiliated one bit with them, but I know people love Astros, and this is a GREAT deal on them.

ya.. i just talked to ken and he referred me to GZC (53sled, i couldn't understand the guy either very well) $115 each for 15x7 with regular center caps and no lugs.about 60 shipping as well he said.

i'm gonna call coys and see what they say cause its already like 20 bucks cheaper fully dressed(lugs and caps)

I got my 15x7 unilug Supremes from Summit.
No lugnuts ordered, I still had a set of McGard's lying around which fit perfectly.
I mounted the tires myself by hand and just a tire-iron, and actually still need to have them balanced. But the current imbalance only becomes slightly noticable at around 60mph.
The car runs true as can be already. Don't worry about the unilugs.
Just make sure you get large enough rings behind the nuts to cover the hole.

I'm not sure what you have planned about the left hand threads but i found it pretty easy to change out. It was one of the first things I did to my 66' Barracuda and my 63' Fury. Are you running drums all the way around or do you have disc brakes up front?
