Can a 250 chevy 6 cyl bolt up to a stock 1951 truck bell housing and trans?

Can a 250 chevy 6 cyl bolt up to a stock 1951 truck bell housing and trans? Any advise Would be appreciated. Thank you

But the 250 bellhousing will bolt up to the 51 Chevy truck transmission.But installed in the truck the 250 housing may foul the truck cross member?

 

Also, the diameter of the front retainer on the transmission may not be the same as the hole in the 250 bell housing.

So what happen to the adapter? Did it work? I need to know because I'm taking the old straight 216 for the 250.... thank you
