I finished spraying my '41 Ford cab, and after a couple of hours I noticed a dry spot on my dash. I knew I had coated it a couple times and was really surprised to see it dry. When should I try to cut n buff? Or when should I recoat it? Acrylic enamel with hardener.

I would cut lightly and buff BUT with only 2 coats I say reshoot, nothing to loose. The longer you wait the better to a point....................

How much did you lay on it? If in doubt, lightly wet sand it smooth re-coat it and use more lighting to really see what your laying down for coverage.

did you paint today or yesterday? If yes, it may settle even more elsewhere. I'd wait to see if any more places need work.

I sprayed it today. Product info says spray 8:1 and reducer is optional(medium and it was 22-23 deg celsius today) up to a quart per gallon. So I mixed 8:1:2 but it still seemed pretty thick, my 1.4 tip didn't really like it so I used my 1.8 and seemed ok. Seems a little weird why I can't reduce it more.....

you will have to sand it smooth to recoat it anyway or your peel will still show so might as well attempt to sand n buff first.
