Hey Rocky, how's 'bout adjoining pits for us all to park together, elbow to elbow, with the motorhomes & such lined up along the backs of the pits, and the HAMBsters all out front. Sort of a "United, We Show" display, eh wot?
siderod -- That is great news, I hope you can make both. Not sure if we can get the two SDRA cars from AZ over this year, but I hope so. The two other SDRA cars (one in Southern CA & one in Northern CA) will be ready for the May race. Looking forward to meeting all of you, I raced my 28 altered roadster in the dragster/altered group at Woodburn with Walt while living up on Whidbey Island, WA 2000-2008. Great track, great people.
Rocky -- I'm going to PM the guys in AZ and see what they have going. Short notice so I am not sure they can make the Oct meet. We will see if there up for the road trip. This will be a big gathering of HAMBster's and May will be even bigger (still think we could have 16 cars). and on the Left Coast don't get better than that.
RoadRunner5 -- I PM'ed the guy that has Ron's jimmy and never heard back from him, I know the car was in the Bay Area for some updating at one time, it has not raced in Southern, CA as far as I know. Never seen or herd anything on the (oakie Outlaw) or (17dracing's) car. If anyone has please let me know so I can contact them about the Eagle Field Races. 64 DODGE 440 will have his HA/GRM done in do time. I think he may be moved to get it done sooner if we have a few big HAMBster car turnouts at Eagle Field, I know he would love to mix it up with the group.
That's my goal Tom. Just need some cooler weather to get out in the shop. The 100 degree days knock me on my **** and I sure as hell don't plan on firing up the welder when it's like this. Cooler days, (and some spare cash wouldn't hurt) and there will be progress made.
I'm with you Tom, this heat has got to go before it's bearable in the shop. I know you will get it on the track this next season and we will be glad to see you mix it up with any and all HAMBster's.
Well, we had a couple "gigs" at Butch's meet, so am working'em out this month. Just finished relocating my kill switch to a more acceptable position, out in the open, at the extreme rear, and now "shove off". Reworked the sideways camera stops on the GoPro mount to catch the car I'm racing a bit better. Added a retaining clip to the submarine strap that kept nudging loose. Sent some aluminum off to the machinist for a pair of parts for a surprise 440 & I are cooking up for Eagle. Cleaned up my old open bucket too. Still have to get in a bit more floorboard that Papa Joe wants, and need to get a new compressor for airing the hides (old one went greasy side up). Also hope to have the paint & lettering brought up to date before Eagle. I got Eagle on my mind. (sung to the tune of whatever you like )
Great ****! Gonna be an Awesome Time and for those who cannot make the Oct Eagle Field Drag Race Extravaganza? You can still join us on http://www.quartermileproductions.net/ !
Received Pre Registration forms from Walt and Scott who are bringing their NW Dragster Cars........GONNA BE A SHOOT OUT Sunday!
OLD28 has thrown his hat in the ring.......sounds like we're having our biggest group yet...... so I want to get a group picture somehow. I'll get Kleet and Leo to take the picture of the great oppurtunity.
Great idea Rocky on the picture as we have had a couple of requests to do that at both this race and hopefully next May with even more cars. Can I make a request that it is done Sat morning before we all start getting into race mode or what ever mode we get into.
So who is the #1 seed in this shoot out. You gonna do a qualifier or chicago style. We alredy know about the match race of the decade!!!!!!!!!
Yep, lets plan on Saturday morning, I'll talk to Kleet. Joe's HA/GR and Walt's NW/VD are my guess unless their is a spoiler. As far as the format everybody runs all day and the group lets me know who is the Champion........maybe Old6 can better answer that question.
We draw straws or match coins for our HAMBie runs, but have considered cutting cards when we get more folks at a meet. Guess we could do the same for the "First Annual West Coast Intercl*** HAMBster Tournament" (FAWCIHT ) unless we decide on something else sometime. Someone bring a deck anyway, and we can try to rob each other later as well.
Yep, Scott and me have loaded up our NW Vintage dragsters on the trailer and are ready to head your way! We're working on a third car attending, but not confirmed yet. We're good with whatever way you want to run things. We plan to be there Friday afternoon. Will we be able to tech then? Group pictures on Sat. morning would be great. Save us a parking spot. See you soon. - Walt

Just in - There will be a 3rd NW Vintage Dragster coming: We'll also be bringing one of these A/FX cars. Probably the Mopar. So save us 2 more spots! - Walt
Cool, we have an Airliner Ramp that Hopefully we can get Kleet on, I call it the Stairway to Heaven it's up there! should produce a GREAT overhead! Cool Walt, we'll save the spaces!
