It's a 63 Buick Special. Don't know much about these lil mid size cars. Any info would be great. It only has like 53xxx miles. Coon got the front seat. Body looks to be in great shape. Not sure about the floor pans. It's been sitting in the same spot for 25 years. A 65 C10 short bed too(not for sale((bummer)). It ran when parked, they just wasn't driving it so he parked it. What's the value on these?
Hey Ty, nice find. Buicks tend to become addictive for some reason, be careful! I'm curious...what's with the scythe in the engine bay!?!
It's about 15 miles from your house too. Not sure what's up in the engine bay. I'm ging to go back and look at it again cause i really didn't look to see what engine. Hopefully a 215. I understand some had v6's.
Uh, you may want to walk away from this one. You never know who might have left that scythe there ! Don
That's a nice find. Almost the same as a 63 Catalina, both midsize. I would try to get it between 1500 and 2500 depending on the frame and floor condition. There is the same car on the internet now for 1300 but it's a hardtop and it's in solid shape.
63 Catalina is a full sized car and the Buick Special is an intermediate sized, more like the Tempest.
did he throw out a price? i'd do a grand on it, maybe a little more if your in love with it and it's got a v8. running and driving maybe worth $4500.
I got a price today. I was thinking more like 1500-2. He hit me with, "my son said 4000". Gulp...gulp.... Then he said he was thinking around 3. I told him i couldn't do that much not running. Need to go and make sure it's got a v-8 in it.
If it's a convertible with the 215 and a 4 speed it might be worth 3000-4000. Keep in mind there is basically zero aftermarket support for these cars aside from the engine. So if the floors, quarters etc are shot you will have to make them (ask me how I know)
Keep looking hes been watching to much Barrett Jackson. A $1500 car tops. and thats in running order.
Well i just got the word from the owner that it's a 6 cyl. Kinda sank my boat and the thought of hard to find parts.
Offer him $1000 in person in cash, and if he says no, then nothing lost and keep looking. You never know what someone will take when you show you are that serious.
