1956 olds engine & trans rebuild cost?

    im looking to find out what a average price for a engine and a trans rebuilt would be for a 1956 oldsmobile...anyone out there had one done the info would be verrrry helpful to me...thanks shane

    grease junkie...after looking around i decided to put a 455 olds engine in mine...the original olds and trans cost more to rebuild and if i was going to rebuild one i sided with more power...in a year and a half i will be able to tell you how that worked out...plan on having it rebuilt and in by next summer

    Nice. I'm going all stock. We're going for 6-7k, including the price of the car.

    start a thread on your restoration and post to that as you go..i would love to watch and add any help from what im learning as i go..these cars we have are cool

    A properly built 324 will idle so soft, you can barely tell it is running. Costly to build but pays off in value.
