I need a spark plug recommendation for my 283. It's got the small valve 461 heads (maybe around 10:1?), HEI, 500cfm carb on a TM-1 intake, headers and sidepipes, and a hydraulic 325hp profile cam. What plugs should I start with?

RJ12YC Champions or equivalent. They're a good starting point, and probably what you'll keep.

Yep, that's what I was thinking. You don't really have to reinvent the wheel on this one if it is a fairly mild engine. Or the equivalent to those in your favorite brand of plug. If you like one particular brand and have stuck with that brand for years on other rigs with good luck find the plugs that cross over from the AC R45 or Champion RJ12YC.

AC Delco R44's seem to work for me. It's a mild 283 for the street.
