G'day all.. like alot of people i'm a long time thread stalker first time poster. My names Dave, I'm from Melbourne-Australia. I run a small car club here, we have a mix of late 50's through to mid 60's cars, all mild kustom.. nothing extreme yet. Now that I've got an American car (well, American/Aussie Hybrid more like it) being a 63' Fairlane 500 I figured it was time to step onto the forums myself. I have owned a 1962 Holden EK Special for years and that for a long time was my project, but now with that more or less finished (for the time being) I couldn't resist grabbing the Fairlane when i saw it for sale. Mild Kustom ambitions for the Ford, but that'll happen in time, right now shes pretty much stock as a rock. Here are some photos i have taken of both. Here is the setup in the EK.. 202 conversion from the 148, Triple SU's 1 3/4", Yella Terra heads, extractors, straight cut timing gears, Torana XU1 Racing Camshaft (Lumpy as), High stall torque convertor and 3 speed trimatic auto transmission w/ B&M ratchet floor shifter. It goes alright. Just realised I don't even have a photo of the finished engine, so i'll get one soon. I don't think I will touch the Fairlanes 260, it runs nice and smooth as is and has a really nice power/cruise balance, the EK can get a bit too angry so it isn't as chilled to drive. Anyway, hopefully that's not way too many photos. Cheers dudes.
Welcome from across the creek! Neat cars , leave the 260 in the fairlane , they go suprizingly well .
