I have a chance to pick up a motor that my friend claims was running when he pulled it .
    # on block left (drivers side) 14010207 27 8 underlined 12 point (like clock) with arrow pointing to 2 o'clock.
    # on front of block (passenger side) V10262jj
    1f104901

Can anybody tell me what this came out of and what year HP and other info you may decipher from these numbers.
    Thanks. Doc

You sure thats 2jj? Should be 3 letters at the end. ZJJ resolves to this

    <table border="1" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td>ZJJ</td> <td>1985</td><td>
    350
    </td><td>Tuned prt inj, a/t</td><td>L98 8</td><td>230</td><td>TPI</td><td>Vette</td></tr></tbody></table>

Neither number decodes, can you double check them for accuracy?

  9. How about this one, back of block is your basic 3970010, front pad is K02 02 TJ
St Catherine, Feb 2nd but what the heck is TJ ? It sure isn't a pontiac 305 with the 010 block casting.

my books show TJx, the x being A thru Z, all being a pickup, Blazer or Van 1/2 ton 3/4 ton and 1 ton, from 73 thru 79. in other words it's a truck engine. the T first in a three letter code means TRUCK. if it was CJx it would have been a passenger car engine.

come on guys, ya gotta remember a "010" block is a 4" bore block. It was used in ANYTHING that needed a 4" block, like 350's/302's. And it was never used as a 327.
