    That does not look like an o.e.m. mount. Is that an aftermarket mount for a sbc?

    That's what I thought. They appear to be universal and the placement depends on where you want the engine to end to up.

    You need the body on to make sure where these go and also the fan and radiator. Theres too many variables you can run into to try installing with the firewall to help place them.

    The big problem Is the frame and body are in two towns.. someone must be using the sane mounts and be able to give ma a few measurements

    ok so after a long search i found this.....
    <HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #e5e5e5; COLOR: #e5e5e5" SIZE=1> <!-- / icon and ***le -->
    <!-- message -->went to install my motor mounts today, and something doesn't seem right. Instructions say mount center goes 17 13/16" from center on front bumper holes and as I do this, my mount hits a bracket on the frame. Are my measurements off? I don't mind having to notch the mount to fit, I just want to make sure. Thanks

    so im guessing all i have to do is line my mounts up the same way?? 17 13/16" to my center hole....someone here must have a 48-54 bel air with a small block in it ...i just need a measurement from any point to the center hole in the mount. thanx for the help

    Check Ch***is Engineering for their weld in motor mounts, I used the install directions on a small block install in a 50 and they were very accurate and worked out fine most measurments pull from existing bolt holes on the frame.... hope this helps

    ive looked at both chasis engineering and ch***is engineering inc..dont see the directions on eather. any old links? or maby someone can just head out to the shop and toss a tape on the frame and tell me how far back the center is... you would think this is all over the net wtf.

    I'm fairly certain those are the CE mount instructions. We used them on my 51 Bus Coupe, now my nephews car. Do you know who made your mounts? The CE mounts are quite a bit different than yours. Butch/56sedandelivery.

    the measurement would be the same. the center of mount to front bolt hole. sometimes there are brackets that are in the way and have to be removed.
