I'm getting ready to drop the *** end of my 63 mercury Monterey , I'm either going to use a 3" or 4" block . My question is on that car , do I need to use a tapered block for pinion angle or will it be ok with a straight block ? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The 64 I just got had 3" straight blocks. It worked fine but was just too low for me. I went with 1" blocks. I have 275/60/15 in the rear.
I went with bigger wheels and tires , so a 3" or 4" will actually put my body at about 2" lower than stock Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
i went 2 and a half on my 59. no pinion angle problem but the drive shaft hit the tunnel when accelerating.
Just make sure that you don't go past the scrub line(parts lower then rim)or that ****er aint going to roll with a flat tire.
