Hi , i am building a 28 chev roadster out of old pieces and parts. I would love to start a build thread but first does anyone have a photo of the door hinges?

The hinges sat in a slot in both the door and the pillar. The slot was cut thru the steel skin. They were held in place with slotted ,flat head wood screws about 1-1/4" long. There was no adjustment.I can get some pics tomorrow if you want.

Thank you both very much ! Now im starting to see what im missing, i m missing the nub on the door's side but thats easy to get back, Now that nub just sits in a little pocket behind the pillar (behind the slotted pillar obviously) looks like the first pic has wood behind there? Yes any more photos would be greatly appreciated! thanks again!

This is how it would be on a wood framed car. I replicated my car in FRP,but the door hinge attachment is the same. I did use machine screws instead of wood screws because i embedded br*** tapping plates in the pillars and door frame. As you can see,on the A pillar there is just a slot that the hinge sets in. This was milled out of the wood originally, and there was some adjustment obtained by useing shim plates between the A pillar and the hinge face. On the door the wood was slotted out the same way except the metal skin covered it up,there by creating a pocket. On my FRP doors, I molded the recess into the inner door panel useing a piece of flat stock to create the recess that the hinge would ultimately set in. Again,a 3/8" br*** tapping plate was then laminated to the door inner for the machine screws to thread into.

edit) disregard the rubber conduit shown at the bottom of pic #2. It carries the electric door popper/latch and power window wireing.

yah, there's a little slide that drops down and keeps them for falling off.

on the bottom hinge you can kinda see a small hole inside that the door pin goes in.

    here's a decent side shot...no exposed hinges
