I have a book that Hot Rod magazine had out in '61. It's part of their technical library of the time. Clutches and Transmissions. Has a Hydro and what looks to be a Cad Lasalle on the cover. I **** at getting pics or scans to load but found this pic on thebay and got it to post. Talks about the 1936-38, 1941-48 Century and Roadmaster trans with some Olds parts to make a drag trans. Ratios same as Cad Lasalle. Was an alternative to the Cad, as it was hard to find even then. Tony Nancy used a Buick trans in the 22jr. by the way. I think the article would help clear things up. No mention of the '36 Lasalle, however, '37 and later on those.

    F&J,

I think you probably answered all of your own questions in your last post.:D I should also say that I have no actual hands-on knowledge about these. All I know is what I have read, and that Jim Carmichiel, the head honcho at Carmichiel Auto Parts in the '50's and '60's and known Cadillac afficianado, used to squirrel every '37 and up Cad or LaSalle transmission he got in in an old school bus body. The older ones were left in the mud or sent to the s****per.
